SoTattooed.com wants to hip you to what’s happening on the hip-hop scene.  We’ve compiled a list of 5 more “need-to-know”  hip-hop artists that represent all that is good about that Florida boom bap sound.

Serum – Dude right here represents that raw hip-hop sound.  Go cop his CD, “Brainstorm Troopah,” if you want to hear an album with no regard for trying to be catchy or pop-friendly.  Simply put, Serum is lyrical – straight up lyrical.  He spits verses that seem as if they were sprayed out of an aerosol can – fitting for this graffiti enthusiast who enlisted legendary Miami artist Krave ofwww.KraveArt.com for his album cover.

Butta Verses -  We recommend going to YouTube.com right now and typing in “Butta Verses, Work” for a stunning example of how a hip-hop track can serve as a motivational theme song for anyone trying to do anything big.  And take it from Butta – he’s done some big things, like touring around the world twice with De La Soul and recording with the legendary CL Smooth.

Cynic – Out of all the talented MC’s in the tri-county area, this artist right here is definitely one of the best at self promotion and getting his name known.  Cynic knows how to position himself the right way and is always making power moves to push further along with his career.  Having shared the stage with some of the bigger names in the industry (Heltah Skeltah, Canibus, N.E.R.D., & Pitbull), Cynic is following a formula for success that is undeniably working.

Sewerside – Sewerside is an up and coming suburban spitter with a catalogue of independent releases that’s impressive beyond measure.  With most of his stuff being very concept driven, it’s rare that he ever spits a verse just for the sake of rhyming some words together.  With one foot in the “horrorcore” genre, Sewerside has drawn on the same fan base that appreciates groups like Insane Clown Posse and continues to gain followers with his aggressive recording and performing schedule.

DJ Stevie D – They don’t call him “The Dick Clark of Hip-Hop” for nothin’.  This cat has been a staple on the local hip-hop scene for 25 years.  He’s the “go-to guy” for all things hip-hop and the mastermind behind “South Florida’s Finest,” a full service entertainment company that provides DJ services, artist management and development, party planning, and bookings.
