CHANEL has always been known for their borderline rigid, polished, and poised garments. It came as a surprise when they decided to release their own line of glam, temporary skin art.
To further promote this new “accessory”,CHANEL, as well as fellow designers Jean Paul Gautier and Rodarte, debuted a few styles on their Spring 2010 runway shows. CHANEL’s temporary tattoos will be in stores March 1st , but can be purchased online at Chanel.com in Mid-February.
These limited edition designs were named “Les Trompe L’Oeil de CHANEL” Temporary Skin Art. They come in packs of five sheets, with 55 total designs to choose from. The tattoos come in different floral designs, dangling chains, charmlike bird and beaded wraps, and of course attached to the signature CHANEL logo.
The price range starts at $75.00. This fashionable alternative to the permanency of real inkage gives women, especially in the modeling/fashion/entertainment industries, a chance to bring out their “wild side”. These runway inspired temporary tatts are a great start to brushing some industry “taboos” under the rug.
